Today the US Postal Service closing down 3700 additional offices.
is that any good for fenders who ship to usa from Europe... ?

Means slower mail delivery, but probably less inspection on the local offices, customs will stay the same.
Could be better for domestic vendors, more oversight possibly.
This is obviously all speculation.

I would hope not seeing as that was the purpose of the flat rate packages campaign.
Not to increase the shipping costs.

The plan is to move stand alone Post Offices buildings into existing businesses to save money. The local grocery store will include a Post Office window, mostly in rural areas. Not a major change for most people. They also petitioned to stop Saturday delivery but that has not been approved.

seems to me it would just make it easier to funnel all the mail thru screening with less offices to receive mail from. also consolidates screening personnel into more centralized locations, allowing them to search more packages faster.

Reducing costs and personnel might also mean less screening.
